OBJECTIVE

I led the creative direction of redesigning the download page for Chrome.com. The marketing team wanted it to be “Googley” yet “also different.” We pushed the envelope of what that could look like while staying within the brand new Google Marketing Web Standards. This was especially tough since browsers are supposed to be “invisible” and “just work” How do you highlight the invisible? We originally proposed abstracting as much of the concepts as possible to basic colors and shapes to communicate ideas instead of only showing product screenshots. We landed somewhere in the middle, and here is the final result! It’s playful and friendly, clean and concise. I worked with my team to finalize for development and ensure everything was pixel perfect. Copy by Emily Luedecke, Illustrations by Melissa Castano, Sweet animations by Neil Shankar.

A little motion

The team did a collection of minimal abstract illustrations in the hero to depict all the things Chrome can do, storing all your sensitive information, syncing across devices, privacy controls, automatic updates, and more. With simple and fun animations we were able to communicate some of the benefits of Chrome. In this instance, cross device syncing.
